Center Working Strategy
With the help of center team, International partners and consultants, we have adopted several strategies to fulfill center Mission and goals. Some of these include but not limited to;
- Arrange free polio Rehabilitation (Surgery) camps Polio endemic countries and identify genuine and needy polio survivors for corrective surgeries and/ or rehabilitation services. Emphasis is paid on children and adolescents, particularly females
- 2 Perform careful assessment and develop plans for needed procedures/ rehabilitation care in consultation with local teams.
- Make the family/caretaker understand about the needs of a polio child and educate them on his/her care and advise them on cost-effective modifications at him. Center will also assist in supporting home modifications
- Patients getting corrective surgeries will be monitored closely by advanced coordinated local nurses, team of well-trained physiotherapists, dietician, under the supervision of operating orthopedic surgeon.
- All patients, surgical or non-surgical polio survivors will also receive complete evaluation on rehabilitation needs that will include physiotherapy, psychological, diet and other needs, different from case to case.
- Complete record of polio survivors receiving treatment under the Center platform will be maintained by the CfPPR team for surveillance purposes.
- Regular follow-up with patients (surgical and non-surgical) will be maintained by the local to prevent secondary complications related to Polio.
- After discharge from the hospital, provide patients with support that will help them and their families to make living easier for the patient. This will include the provision of assisted devices, modifications at home to make it accessible etc. This will motivate new patients to push themselves to achieve desired results much faster.
- Provide incentives to the families to support their child and pursue them to give best education to the child
- Present successful stories of polio survivors to motivate other families with polio child to come forward and receive help. This can be done by working and collaborating with other NGOs with similar goals.
